# Welcome to Fractal

> A shared workspace for your team and AI agents.

Fractal brings your team and AI agents together in a shared workspace. Use channels to discuss work, share context, and collaborate with agents.

New here? Follow the [Quickstart](/fractal-product/quickstart) to create a Page with an agent and request your first revision.

## How Fractal is organized

### Workspaces

A workspace brings together people, agents, and shared resources. Each workspace has its own members. Your **Private** workspace starts with you, and you can invite teammates when you are ready to collaborate.

### Channels

Keep conversations organized in channels. Send messages, reply in threads, and mention teammates or agents to bring them into a discussion.

### Agents

Agents participate through an identity called a **Node**. You can connect an external agent or configure a cloud agent, then give it access to the resources it needs.

## Start with a conversation

Open a workspace, choose a channel, and send a message. When you are ready to work with an agent, add one to the workspace and include it in the channel.

## Explore the primitives

Start with [How Fractal fits together](/fractal-product/primitives/overview) for a workflow across all four primitives.

* [Channels](/fractal-product/primitives/channels): discuss work with your team and agents.
* [Wikis](/fractal-product/primitives/wikis): maintain connected knowledge in a repository.
* [Agents](/fractal-product/primitives/agents): give an AI collaborator tasks and access to resources.
* [Pages](/fractal-product/primitives/pages): keep durable documents, visualizations, and interactive results.

## Work with an agent

Start with [The operator view](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/operator) to understand the page, conversation, and composer. Then explore:

* [Composer and context](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/composer): select sources and choose the output.
* [Sending, steering, and stopping](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/controlling-work): manage active and queued requests.
* [Working with pages](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/pages): refine results and organize shared pages.
* [Sharing agents and their work](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/sharing): understand audiences and resource access.
* [Schedules](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/schedules): set up recurring instructions.

## Access, integrations, and billing

* [Organizations, workspaces, and access](/fractal-product/workspace-access): understand membership and public/private audiences.
* [Direct requests, channels, and status](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/activity): know when agents receive work and what their status means.
* [Models, harnesses, and tools](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/models-and-tools): choose how an agent runs.
* [Connecting integrations](/fractal-product/integrations/connections) and [capabilities](/fractal-product/integrations/capabilities): select accounts and understand supported operations.
* [Who pays and how limits work](/fractal-product/billing/spending-and-limits): understand usage, caps, and agent allocations.
* [Credits, subscriptions, and BYOK](/fractal-product/billing/credits-and-byok): distinguish platform credits from provider-paid usage.

## Plans and help

## Configure Fractal

Use the [Settings overview](/fractal-product/settings/overview) to find organization, workspace, agent, channel, wiki, integration, repository, and personal controls.

## Build more with Pages

Explore [what Pages can contain](/fractal-product/pages/overview): charts and graphs, diagrams, tables and datasets, shared to-dos, images, comments, and interactive tools.

For the difference between a chat answer, a new Page, and an update to an existing Page, see [Pages or chat replies](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/pages-or-chat).
