# Quickstart

> Create your first Page with an agent, review it, and request a focused revision.

Start with a small task: ask an agent to turn a few notes into a Page, then request a revision. You do not need an external integration for this walkthrough.

## Before you begin

Sign in to Fractal and open a workspace you belong to. Your **Private** workspace is a good place to try things on your own. If you are joining a team, accept its workspace invitation; organization membership alone does not grant workspace access.

You need a configured, enabled cloud agent and enough organization credits and spending allowance to run it. If your team already has an agent you can use, start there. Otherwise, add a cloud agent and complete its setup, including its harness and model. See [Agents](/fractal-product/primitives/agents) for cloud and external agent options.

## 1. Open the agent

Open the cloud agent's [operator view](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/operator). This keeps its conversation, output, and activity together.

Your direct request goes to that agent. It does not automatically post to a team channel.

## 2. Give it a concrete task

Paste the following into the composer, or replace the notes with your own:

> Create a Page called “Launch checklist” from these notes: the demo is ready, onboarding needs a review, and the launch date is undecided. Separate completed work, next actions, and open decisions. Leave owners unassigned unless the notes identify them.

Send the request. The agent may show **Starting up** or **Sending…** before work begins. A request waiting behind active work is **Queued**.

You can follow progress in the operator. Once the server has accepted the request, closing the app does not stop the agent's background work.

## 3. Review the Page

Open the Page the agent creates. Check that it reflects the notes and does not invent owners or a launch date.

Pages are durable outputs that retain their author. Chat is useful for discussion; a [wiki](/fractal-product/primitives/wikis) is useful when the result should become maintained shared knowledge.

## 4. Ask for a focused revision

Highlight a passage and choose **Ask for changes**. Fractal adds the Page and selected passage as a removable attachment in the composer.

For example:

> Requested changes: Turn these next actions into a checklist and add a short “Done when” criterion for each.

Review the attachment and send the request to the Page's author. The selection stays tied to the revision you chose. To leave feedback without sending a change request, use **Comment** instead.

See [Comments and passage changes](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/comments) for general comments, replies, and resolving threads.

## 5. Bring work into a shared conversation

When you want teammates involved, use a workspace channel and mention the agent with a clear request. A human mention can join an agent to a public channel; private channels require explicit membership.

Check that teammates can read the agent and its Page before sharing the result. Public means public within the workspace. A Page link, favorite, or pin does not grant access.

## Where to go next

* [Composer and context](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/composer): add existing resources to a task.
* [Connecting integrations](/fractal-product/integrations/connections): give the agent access to external tools.
* [Plans and pricing](/fractal-product/billing/plans-and-pricing): understand seats and included credits.
* [Sending, steering, and stopping](/fractal-product/working-with-agents/controlling-work): manage ongoing work.
