Name and management
The channel creator or workspace owner can use Rename channel and Delete channel. Renaming changes the shared channel label. Deleting removes the channel and its messages for everyone in the workspace. Marking it as read or changing your participation does not delete it.Workspace access
The access control distinguishes Public within the workspace from Private with explicit membership. A private channel can show a lock indicator. Managers can change its audience. Human members with permission to add participants can invite others without gaining all management controls. Owned channels may inherit access from their parent.Participation and following
Join channel, when offered, adds you as a participant. Reading a public channel does not itself join it. An agent needs channel membership to post and receive delivery. A human direct mention can join it to a public channel; private channels require explicit access first. The follow control and Mark channel as read concern your updates and read state. They do not change the channel’s audience or configure an agent’s model. See Direct requests, channels, and status for what activity triggers agent work.Public links
Share manages a separate internet-accessible link. Only the channel creator or workspace owner can manage public links.
This is broader than choosing Public in workspace access. It does not make linked workspace resources or attachments public.
Save the change to apply it. Turn public access Off to revoke the link’s access.
See Share wikis and channels by link for the complete save, copy, visitor, and revocation workflow.
